Standard Warranty:
- 101-day exchange warranty, unless an extended warranty is purchased.
- Returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#).
- Pickup requests for returns are scheduled next business day.
Warranty Details:
Engines:
- Covered by a 101-day warranty against rod knock, cracked block, and excessive smoking.
- Purchaser's responsibility to ensure correct installation, fluid levels, and prevention of overheating.
Transmissions:
- Guaranteed to work properly at the time of purchase.
- 101-day parts warranty; labor excluded.
Rear Ends:
- Guaranteed to work properly at the time of purchase.
- 101-day return window.
Labor:
- Not covered unless labor insurance was purchased.
- Not valid on discounted or clearance items.
Miscellaneous:
- Body cuts are returnable; ensure correct cutting.
- Used parts must be inspected by the buyer's mechanic.
- No warranty on labor unless purchased at the time of item purchase.
Mileage:
- Mileage is taken from the speedometer.
Electrical Items:
- Must be programmed; customer's responsibility to pay for this.
- Allen & Sons reserves the right to exchange or repair defective parts.
Condition of Returned Parts:
- Parts must be returned in the same condition and packaging.
Incorrectly Ordered Items:
- Online items ordered incorrectly are returnable.
Installation Requirements:
- Expectation of installation by a licensed professional.
- Follow all procedures outlined by the vehicle manufacturer.
Timing Belt Engines:
- Timing belt type engines require a new timing belt at the time of installation.
- Improper installation voids warranty.
Transmission Filters and Torque Converters:
- Filters must be replaced before installation.
- Torque converters are not preinstalled.
Seals & Gaskets:
- Not covered under warranty; installer's responsibility to replace.
Labor Coverage:
- Available at an additional cost.
- Not valid on discounted or clearance items.
Failure Rates:
- Rebuilt: 19 Percent fail rate
- Remanufactured: 14 Percent fail rate
- Brand new aftermarket: 14 Percent fail rate
- Used: > 5 Percent fail rate
- Brand new from the original manufacturer: > 1 Percent fail rate
Labor Insurance Policy Guide:
- Only for catastrophic failure; excludes diagnostics, seals, gaskets, fluids, or programming.
- Must be purchased in advance.
Labor Coverage Tiers:
- $100 - $500 Labor Coverage
- $200 - $1000 Labor Coverage
- $300 - $1500 Labor Coverage
- $400 - $2000 Labor Coverage
- $500 - $2500 Labor Coverage
- $600 - $3000 Labor Coverage
- $700 - $3500 Labor Coverage
- $800 - $4000 Labor Coverage
- $900 - $4500 Labor Coverage
- $1000 - $5000 Labor Coverage
